Stuff I Made!

I'm going to Florida in June! I get to stay a couple of weeks with my best (girl) friend, Megan. We've been friends a couple of years, and we've never got to meet. Florida and all. We talk all the time on the internet and phone. We met through a chronic illness support group. She has EDS. But she'd going to be able to fly me out in june. I'll stay with them. But, I really need to pay for other things, like the food I can eat, things for the trip, and suvineers. So, I'm selling prints, they are just a couple of dollars over what I will have to pay to print them, but I don't know how to price things, so, if you think it deserves more money, I won't argue, I also have jewelry and other beaded things for sale too, and could probably make something if you described it. And I'll do portraits. I made a blog for the stuff I'm selling,
http://stuffimade.livejournal.com/ Please go look, and donate to my, 'I'm going to Florida, whoo hoo!', fund. You'll have to pay me in person or send me a check as, I don't have a bank account.
Contact me through, brittany@nordyke.com or , if I don't answer after a couple of days, (sometimes that one doesn't work) sicklygothgirl@hotmail.com
Thank you!
Also, Bethany! I have your necklace! you don't have to pay, I made it for you before this, I just haven't seen you! so Next time I do...

-Mary Pickford

"Adding sound to movies would be like putting lipstick on the Venus de Milo."

I love classic movies and have been watching a lot of them lately.

Some good silent movies are,
Nosferatu (1922) The ultimate Vampire movie! And the effects are quite good considering the time.
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1919) A foreign film, German, that's one of the first art movies ever made. It's all very Tim Burton-y, and I really like the story too. It's translated fairly well.
Orphans of the Storm (1921) A historical drama, set in the french revolution. Good stuff!Trapped by the Mormons (1922) Possibly the funniest silent movie I've ever seen. It's not supposed to be funny, it's supposed to warn you about those naughty mormon weirdos, but they have pretty much everything but the name wrong, and in the funniest ways. Definitly one of my favorites. Be sure you are watching the original 1922 version, there is a later one that sucked.
The Phantom of the Opera (1925) An awsome classic that even though it's usually a musical, when they have sound anyway, still works pretty well!
The Gold Rush (1925) A Charlie Chaplin movie. So many people are so obsessed with him. I don't actually find him that funny. I only have this movie because of the roll dance scene. I don't know why I like it so much...The Godless Girl (1929) I saw this one on TCM. I can't find it at the library, so I don't have it. It's sad. But I like it! It's a drama and romance, and I actually like it! shocking.
Sunrise (1927) Another one I don't have but liked. Another drama, but it's heavier and not lighthearted much at all. The story is fairly good though. There are so many more I've seen but can't remember the titles or didn't like them. I'll be doing another post soon about movies from the early sound era, if you guys care to hear what I think anyway!

Lucy Van Pelt, "Peanuts"

"I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!"

We dyed the EAster Eggs on Friday. Luke has really bad congestion cold, so he doesn't look great but we had fun and goofed off with the camera, while Nikki sat around acting as if she's above it all. but hey. Whatever. The easter buny brought stuff Saturday! We all got candy and eggs. Luke got a Sesame Street coloring book, Nikki got a celebrity magazine, and I got National Geographic! yay!

The Paranoid's Pocket Guide by Cameron Tuttle

"If you sneeze too hard, you can fracture a rib. If you try to suppress a sneeze, you can rupture a blood vessel in your head or neck and die."

CJ got me a new cane! my other one was starting to bow and collapse. awsome. This one is much prettier and less likely to kill me. Also, it has already dubbed itself Harvy, see picture below, so in an anti-creative move, I shall keep the name. I took pictures. It's just what I do.
I just hope I can get better soon with the better insurance I'm now on and not have to us it too much. I tend to be stubborn and sometimes not use it when I need too and then end up hunched over trying not to hyperventilate. Go me.
